Rout Retires

The New Zealand Skating Association Council has announced that their brightest skating star, Allie Rout has decided to retire from competitive skating. Rout, 16, was the first female skater from New Zealand to ever represent her nation at a Junior Grand Prix event. Her results in the junior ranks brought her to the attention of the International Skating Union who twice awarded her an ISU scholarship.

Rout, the reigning national junior and senior ladies champion is currently enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program through St. Kentigerns College in Auckland, New Zealand and is looking to pursue a career in medicine.
