Italy’s Anna Cappellini, 24, and Luca LaNotte, 26, were happy to get the season off to a good start by dancing into third at both their Grand Prix events.
Since joining forces in 2005, Cappellini, who hails from Como, and LaNotte, a Milan native, have competed at the last five World Championships. They earned an eighth-place finish last season, their highest result to date.
With the retirement of Federica Faiella and Massimo Scali, Cappellini and LaNotte now rank first in their nation. “We are happy to be Italy’s number-one ice dance team this season,” Cappellini said.
