Sinead Kerr and John Kerr retired from competitive skating last year and, for the first time in almost a decade, were not listed in the lineup for the ice dance event at the European Championships.
But the two-time European bronze medalists were in attendance in Sheffield as the event ambassadors. IFS caught up with them to talk about the past, present and future.
It’s the first time in 10 years that you’re not competing at Europeans. How strange is this for you?
Sinead: It seems a little bit surreal. A bunch of people asked us, “Do you miss it?” Of course I miss it. I mean, there’s nothing like competition. But there is a time to stop, and we definitely knew after last season that that was it.
