South Korean superstar Yuna Kim has been flying under the skating radar since she stepped away from the competitive scene in 2010. The breathing room has given the 21-year-old the opportunity to explore new horizons and to give back to the sport in ways she never imagined.
In the summer of 2011 Kim was a high-profile member of the South Korean contingent that landed the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. Later that year she was named an executive of the Games’ organizing committee.
A UNICEF International Goodwill Ambassador since 2010, Kim added another title to her growing résumé when she took on the role of ambassador for the inaugural Winter Youth Olympic Games that took place in Innsbruck, Austria in January.
