The past two seasons have not been kind to Brian Joubert. Plagued by injuries and inconsistent performances, many expected the French star to hang up his skates following the 2012 World Figure Skating Championships.
But Joubert’s electric performances in Nice proved that he is far from done.
For the first time in his 11-year career on the senior circuit, Joubert did not medal at an international championship this season. But he considers his fourth-place finish at the 2012 Worlds in Nice more valuable than any medal.
“For the first time in years I skated two clean programs at a major competition,” he said. “I was very proud of what I achieved, especially after what I went through.”
