The World Junior Figure Skating Championships have come a long way since the early days. Once a competition that largely flew under the radar, the Championships now rank as one as one of the top events in the world for skating fans.

And the level of talent at the 2012 edition was nothing less than an inspiring insight into the future of the sport.


When China’s Han Yan waltzed off with gold in Minsk, Belarus he captured more than just a title. His victory gave him a place in the annals of skating history. Yan was the first Chinese man ever to claim the World Junior crown.
