Disson Showcases Gala Events

Disson Skating will present a series of fabulous shows this season that will blend skating with entertainment, one of which will be highlighted by performances from some of America's 2012 Olympic gymnasts.

International Figure Skating has partnered with Disson Skating this season to bring you exclusive access from this exciting series of shows.

For the first time since 2008 a family themed skating gala, “Musselman’s Apple Sauce Family Skating Tribute,” will kick off the Pandora NBC Skating Series Nov. 3 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.

Jewel, the four-time Grammy nominated singer-songwriter, will perform live alongside a cast of Olympic and World stars including Ekaterina Gordeeva, Ilia Kulik, two-time Olympic medalist Nancy Kerrigan and many more. All of the on-ice performers and Jewel herself are parents who will be joined by their children and will be featured in the show.

The “Musselman’s Apple Sauce Family Skating Tribute” will air on NBC on Sunday, Nov. 18 from 4:00 p.m.– 6:00 p.m. (EST).

Brian Boitano, the 1988 Olympic champion, will headline the second show in the Pandora NBC Skating Series, “PANDORA Unforgettable Holiday Moments,” together with multi-platinum winners Mannheim Steamroller.

World champions Elvis Stojko and Kimmie Meissner, reigning U.S. champion Ashley Wagner and 2011 U.S. champion Alissa Czisny will take to the ice for this unforgettable event. The show will take place Nov. 10 at the Grand Canyon University Arena in Phoenix, Arizona at 7:00 p.m.

Mannheim Steamroller will perform live for the entire evening with special guest performances from Megan Hilty, the star of the NBC hit series Smash. The show will air on NBC on Nov. 25 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. (EST).

The third show of the season, the “Progressive® Skating & Gymnastics Spectacular,” will showcase some of America’s finest gymnasts include Olympic stars Gabrielle (Gabby) Douglas, Alexandra (Aly) Raisman, Jordyn Wieber, Danell Leyva, John Orozco, Jonathan Horton and Jake Dalton who represented Team USA at the 2012 Games in London this summer.

They will be joined by 2008 Olympic all-around gymnastics champion Nastia Liukin and a cast of 2014 Winter Olympic figure skating hopefuls in. The sold-out show will take place at the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena in Jamestown, N.Y., on December 15.

Meryl Davis and Charlie White, the 2010 Olympic ice dance silver medalists, will headline an all-star cast, which includes reigning U.S. champions Jeremy Abbott and Ashley Wagner, two-time U.S. champion Alissa Czisny, 2011 World ice dance bronze medalists Maia and Alex Shibutani, reigning U.S. silver medalist Adam Rippon and rising U.S. star Gracie Gold.

Nickelodeon’s Fresh Beat Band and Ross Lynch of Disney’s “Austin and Ally,” and his band R5 will perform live during this show.

Olympic champions Bart Conner, Nadia Comaneci and Peggy Fleming will host the show, which will air on NBC on Jan. 19 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. (EST).

The Pandora NBC Skating Series wraps up with “Pandora Unforgettable Moments of Love on Ice,” a Valentine’s Day special that will be taped at the ShoWare Center in Kent, Wash. on Jan. 11.

Grammy Award winning artist, Barry Manilow will perform during the entire show. Skaters include Olympic medalists Nancy Kerrigan and Elvis Stojko along with three-time U.S champion Michael Weiss.

Ben Agosto, the 2006 Olympic ice dance silver medalist will make his solo debut at this show, which will air on NBC on Jan. 27 (2:00-4:00 p.m. EST).
