It has been a year of change for America’s Adam Rippon. With a new coach, a new training environment and a new look, the two-time World junior champion is on a mission to be in the best possible position to earn a berth on the 2014 U.S. Winter Olympic team.
After dealing with plantar fasciitis in his left foot all summer, Rippon found himself at a crossroads. While he still had the burning desire to compete, something was missing.
“I had so much success at a young age, a skater with tons of potential. I had some success last year, but overall I felt like I was in a hamster wheel,” he said. “I know that I have so much more to offer, but I didn’t know how to get there.”
