The Ice Theatre of New York, the nation’s premier ice dancing ensemble, continues its winter season of citywide performances with the special tree lighting festivities at Harlem’s Riverbank State Park on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 4 pm.
Joined by 30 youth skaters, the Ice Theatre of New York is scheduled to perform some of the ensemble’s fan favorites: Skater’s Swing Time Waltz, Hot Chocolate, and a restaging of Footloose on Ice (program subject to change). The performance will take place at Riverbank State Park’s state-of-the-art covered skating rink, which boasts spectacular promenade views of the Hudson River.
The tree lighting ceremony follows the performances. Governor David Paterson slated to be on hand to help ring in the holidays. Then the rink will be open for a free public session skating (skate rentals cost $5).
