The Russian pair Vera Bazarova and Yuri Larionov, who won the gold medal at the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final, is looking at a two-year ban after Larionov reportedly failed a test for banned substances.
“WADA experts visited us at home and took blood samples two weeks before the start of the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final. The drug test proved positive. I might have taken some head ache pills, but nothing from the list of banned drugs,” Larionov in an interview for “Sport Den za Dnem.”
The official web site for the 2008 World Junior Championships is reporting that Bazarova and Larionov, who won the bronze medal at Skate America in their senior debut, have been suspended from competition while the test procedure is being investigated.
