Fresh on the heels of her second World title, Miki Ando launched a new website (www.miki-ando.com) in May. The bold design, with shades of purple on black, provides a nice backdrop for highlighting the career of one of Japan’s top stars.
Drawback: the majority of the content on the site is in Japanese, without options for alternate languages. This is something her management team may want to consider adding, especially since she is represented by New York-based IMG. The headings are in English, though, so English-speaking fans can explore the site with help from Google Translate (translate.google.com).
The site seems a little thin on content right now, but it has room to grow. To her credit, Ando posted insightful messages from the World Championships as they happened, so if she keeps using the blog, it could grow into an insightful place to visit.
At press time, the photo gallery only had nine pictures, all from one photo agency. I’m confident that Ando has been photographed more than nine times, so I expect to see this feature expanding in the future.
