Australia's Love Affair with Torvill and Dean Continues

After the huge success of their reality skating show "Dancing on Ice" in Great Britain, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean’s Australian version premieres Tuesday, July 11 at 7:30 p.m. (EST) on the Nine Network.

Given Australia's love affair with Torvill and Dean for more than two decades the show will likely garner solid ratings. Ten professional skaters spent eight weeks coaching the celebrities and teaching them how to skate. Viewers get to decide each week who stays and who goes.

The list of celebrities and skaters who will compete:

1. Annaliese Braakenseik and Trent Nelson-Bond
2. Lara Bingle and Matt Evers
3. Jackie Kelly and Pavel Aubrecht
4. Michael Slater and Anya D'Jamirze
5. Karl Stefanovic and Linda Aubrecht
6. Dermott Brereton and Pam O'Connor
7. Jules Lund and Kristina Cousins
8. Giaan Rooney and Jonathon O'Dougherty
9. Jake Wall and Maria Filippov
10. Trisha Broadbridge and Alexandre Pavlov.

Broadbridge is the "2006 Young Australian of the Year." Her husband Troy was killed in the Boxing day Tsanami.
