2018 Worlds take place March 21 – 25 at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan, Italy.

Reigning World champions Yuzuru Hanyu and Evgenia Medvedeva are both sidelined with foot injuries.

Also out are Olympic silver pairs medalists Wenjing Sui and Cong Han of China. Sui is also recovering from a serious foot injury. This opens the door for new champions to be crowned in the singles and pairs disciplines.

With the retirement of Canada’s Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford two places are open on the pairs podium. Aljona Savchenko and Bruno Massot of Germany seem a sure bet to add to their medal stash after claiming the Olympic pairs title a month ago.

Alina Zagitova of Russia will be chasing her first World title but there could be a battle with Canada’s Kaetlyn Osmond also chasing the crown.

French stars Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron are a sure bet to capture their third World ice dance title. The second and third spots on the podium are wide open with Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir and Maia Shibutani and Alex Shibutani absent from this competition.
