IFS OCTOBER 2017 – The two-time World ice dance champions grace our September/October 2017 cover. The French duo talked to Robert Brodie about the challenges they faced last season and the strategy heading into the 2018 Olympic year.
Sometimes the toughest seasons can turn out to be the best — all that is required is a little perspective, and time toproperly reflect. Ask Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron to sum up their 2016-17 season, and it does not take long for both halves of the French ice dance team to comment on the difficulties they had to overcome.
And it goes far beyond the fact that, for the first time in three years, they did not finish the season as World champions. Delve a little deeper, and both Papadakis and Cizeron will tell you about a highly intricate free dance that took until the World Championships in Helsinki to execute in a way that satisfied the highly ambitious couple.

Closing out last season on the highest note of their career was the goal Lubov Ilyushechkina and Dylan Moscovitch had strived for all year.
